Dr. Steven Frantz is the System Director for Student Life in the Office of the Chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System. In that role, Dr. Frantz consults with colleges and universities regularly, and facilitates planning and policy development in a variety of student services areas.  During his career, Dr. Frantz has intertwined direct student services with administrative and change agent roles.   Over the past several years, he has served as a point person, coordinating the veterans’ reintegration activities of the System.  He has been an active participant in Minnesota’s groundbreaking “Beyond the Yellow Ribbon” program and has worked to develop policies and legislation to facilitate the reintegration of veterans on campuses in Minnesota.  He recently received the U.S. Army’s Commander’s Award for Public Service presented by Major General Shellito, Adjutant General for the Minnesota National Guard.  Dr. Frantz holds a baccalaureate degree in social science education, a masters degree and specialist certificate in counseling and student personnel psychology and a doctorate in educational policy and administration.  He maintains credentials as a licensed psychologist in Minnesota and as a nationally certified counselor.
